China 15th Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd. Africa Construction & Trade Company (hereinafter referred to as “15MCC Africa”) is a wholly-owned overseas subsidiary of China 15th Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd., a central enterprise directly managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) under the State Council. It also serves as the core overseas platform for China 15th Metallurgical Construction Group to deepen its presence in the African market and implement its “Going Global” strategy.

At present, the company has established three core bases in Zambia—Chambishi, Luanshya, and Lusaka—and operates fixed production facilities such as the Chambishi steel structure processing plant, a sand-brick factory, and a concrete batching plant, forming a complete localized production and support system. In terms of workforce, the company has developed a three-tier structure of “Chinese management + local key personnel + local technicians,” with over 380 Chinese employees and nearly 4,000 local employees, accounting for more than 90% of the total workforce. In addition, through cooperation with the University of Zambia and the China-Zambia Vocational and Technical College, the company has established “order-based classes” to continuously cultivate local management and technical talent, making its experience in localized operations one of the leading examples among Chinese enterprises in the region.

In its development, the company’s projects—including the Chambishi 150,000-ton/year blister copper smelter and the Chambishi Copper Mine Southeast Orebody Exploration and Mining Project—have twice won the Luban Award for overseas projects in China, becoming landmark projects in China-Zambia capacity cooperation. Currently, the company is focusing on key projects such as the Luanshya New Mine, Katomba Mine, and the Rida Zifengpa Hydrometallurgical Smelting Project, holding a significant position in Zambia’s smelting and mineral development sector.
