Recently, the Sinomine's Cartoonba Copper Mine project has made a key progress the designed entry and exit trenches at the 1390-1375 level were successfully developed and put into use within this week. This marks the official completion of the project's dual entry and exit trench transportation system, laying a solid foundation for the realization of east-west zoned mining in the pit and the optimization of the mine's logistics transportation pattern.

The newly developed 1390-1375 horizontal access channel will operate in coordination with the existing transportation channels, forming an efficient and complementary double-channel system. The greatest advantage of the new system lies in the realization of independent mining and transportation in the east and west sections of the mining pit. The material transportation routes have been re-planned. Vehicles no longer need to detour and can quickly enter and exit the mining pit operation face through the nearest channels respectively. This fundamentally shortens the transportation distance within the site and effectively reduces vehicle congestion and circulation time.

Preliminary estimates suggest that the formation of this system has significantly shortened the average transportation distance in the relevant areas, and the transportation efficiency is expected to increase by 15% to 20%. This not only directly reduces fuel consumption and equipment wear and tear, but also enhances the continuity and rhythm of production as a whole, providing reliable logistics support for dealing with subsequent more intense mining tasks.

At the beginning of the second quarter's production start-up, the timely commissioning of the double entry and exit trench system was like injecting a "strong heart stimulant" into the mine's transportation, greatly alleviating the transportation pressure of deep mining, ensuring the smooth connection between stripping and mining operations, and providing strong support for the subsequent continuous, stable and efficient production. The smooth implementation of this key project is the result of the scientific planning and efficient execution of the project team. It also demonstrates the firm steps of the Katoba project in continuously optimizing the mining process and moving towards refined and efficient mine operation. In the second quarter, relying on this optimized transportation pattern, the mining and stripping plan will be further finely arranged to fully release the production capacity potential.
